American Airlines Cargo

American Airlines Cargo continued to modernize its business through the deployment of the cargo Mail capability. This completed the implementation of all key modules of IBS Software's iCargo platform.

iCargo Air Mail Handling and Mail Income Accounting is the last module to go live at American's Cargo. It is fully integrated across all iCargo modules. This allows enhanced real-time air capacity segmentation and allotment of air mail, monitoring, handling and revenue accounting across the global network and provides end-to-end management for the airmail business using a single integrated air cargo and mail management software, accessible on all stations, including American's global hubs. Read: Jet Envoy Login

American has made the cargo business easier with iCargo. American reduced the number of systems by 90 to 10, eliminating redundant systems, inefficiencies and improving processes. This will result in improvements for its over 8,000-strong cargo crew and 30,000 customers.

"Completing our transition to iCargo was a crucial step in digitizing our global air cargo industry. "Air cargo played an important role in the pandemic. It is crucial that we continue to innovate, push ahead with our digital strategy, as we look towards the future," Angela Hudson, Head, Transformation, American Airlines Cargo.

She said, "Our entire team was responsible for this transition and have been working side by side to leverage our new tools with customers," she continued.

American now has the ability to provide technology-led business solutions, and can continue to innovate around digital distribution strategies.
